“But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.’” –Mark 10:6-10
Congratulations on your decision to get married!
The institution of marriage is a beautiful vocation, the beginning of family life and a great adventure. The Catholic Church rejoices in your decision to marry and wants to journey with you in your preparations and assist you in growing in your love for each other as well as in your relationship with Christ. Each person is called to prepare as well as possible to live out their faith in their marriage and in their lives.
All couples marrying in the Catholic Church are required to take a marriage preparation course. Information on marriage preparation in our Archdiocese may be found on the Archdiocesan website. In order to assist you with your preparations, we have prepared a wedding brochure for those getting married in our parish. (See link below.) It is important that you contact the parish office as soon as possible, no later than six months before your intended wedding date.
